Hi! My name is Jake and I have been volunteering at Chicago Canine Rescue for about a year now. During my time at CCR so far, I've had the privilege of learning the different facets of animal rescue. From walking the dogs, to helping out with maintenance around the shelter, I have a first hand look into what makes this place special. The professional, gentle care that goes into each dog's journey is supported by the compassion of each staff member and volunteer. As CCR's overall operations increase, the need for funding those overhead costs increases as well. This shelter has seen an increased intake of rescue dogs by 32%. With an overall goal of $15,000 in fundraising for the shelter, I am looking to to help contribute to that goal while helping one of the current CCR dogs get his first hot dog! Any contribution is GREATLY appreciated as it is going toward the care of my buddies; past, present, and future at the shelter :)
*****UPDATE 8/12/26: We have hit $5,000!!! Which means I will be signing up for a half marathon (uh oh).
****UPDATE 8/10/26: We have now passed $4,000! There are only 5 days left of the fundraiser so I am raising the stakes. If we can get to $5,000 by Friday, I will run a half marathon.
***UPDATE 8/6/26: We have now passed $3,000!!! Which means I will also be taking one of the dogs at the shelter out on a "Doggy Day Out". A "best day ever" beach day full of hot dogs, treats, fetch, and sight seeing around Chicago :)
**UPDATE 8/3/26: We have now passed $2,000! Which means not only will Flash get his hot dog at the sleepover, him and I will be wearing matching hot dog jammies!!
*UPDATE 8/2/26: We CRUSHED our goal of $500 so Flash will definitely be getting his hot dog!
