Redman's Emergency Medical Fund

On Monday, our sweet beagle, Redman, went in for a routine neuter procedure. Typically, these surgeries are quick and uncomplicated, but unexpectedly, Redman began to bleed uncontrollably after failing to clot. Thankfully, we quickly transported him to Blue Pearl for an emergency blood transfusion and further evaluation.
For the first two days, Redman struggled to clot properly. He received a plasma transfusion followed by a red blood cell transfusion, and finally, we were relieved to see the bleeding stop and his clotting begin to normalize. His blood pressure has returned to normal, and his red blood cell count is gradually improving. We’re so close to having him out of the woods!
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a clear answer as to why this happened. We’ve sent special tests to Cornell University and expect results in the coming week. In the meantime, we anticipate that Redman will be discharged later today for outpatient care, and we’ll make sure he’s cozy and comfortable as we await further information.
So far, Redman’s medical care has totaled $13,171 for his multi-day ER stay and transfusions. We’re committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure he can live a happy, healthy life, but we need your help to cover his medical expenses. Any donations or shares of his story from our community would mean the world to us!
